At Everglades Edge the order of the day is to have a good time. Only we combine exercise, the outdoors and  the south Florida ecology for a physical level of environmental appreciation.  Wes kindly describes himself  as a "treehugger" and our tours are conducted according to an informative  plan of interpretation of the nature and history of the Everglades. Wes has been trained as a Florida naturalist, and has experience as a forestry volunteer, FTA activity leader, local historian, boat captain, cycling tour leader, and also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. Combine this knowledge with 28 years of extensive adventure travels in hiking, biking, paddling and sailing almost exclusively in South Florida and you have an interesting and knowledgeable, locally established and safe adventure tour leader.  Wes will be directly involved in all activities. Excellent customer service is the foundation for outfitting our customers and a primary concern of the Everglades Edge guide service.  Most of the Everglades land is intended to be a pristine sanctuary for wildlife and we respect that with a human powered approach.  Although our activities are intimate with nature, we don't so much search out what we see but allow nature to unfold. Our activities are seasonally scheduled and we keep to the edges of the swamps, on stay on trails and tread lightly and with proper guiding we stay safe with  minimal physical impacts.  We use the best and most appropriate equipment available and provisioning is thoughtful and top-notch. Preparations are made for nearly every conceivable situation with triple back ups on all essentials. Peace of mind, practical comfort, safety, and all the associated planning and logistics are what the Edge can do for you. Much more of your time can be spent focusing on the surroundings and the wildlife or just resting and reflecting on where we are.
